last sunday offering
At St. Andrew's the loose plate offerings on the last Sunday of each month are given to an organization chosen by our Outreach Committee. Donations for the Last Sunday Offering can also be made through our Giving Online page or sent directly to the office. Donations are matched by anonymous donors.
May 2024 Recipient: Voorhees College
One of two Episcopal HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), Voorhees attracts many who are the first in their family to attend college. Our May offering will fund both a scholarship and a summer internship at St. Andrew's for sophomore Georgea Saffrey. We hope that our May total will substantially exceed the funds required to support Georgea so that we can confidently recruit two scholar-interns in 2025 with some funds already in the bank.

June 2024 Recipient: Got Lunch Newport
No one, including children in our local schools, should have to go hungry. Got Lunch Newport helps address food insecurity in families with school-age children by delivering bagged groceries when school lunches are not available. In 2023 105 families in Goshen, Grantham, Lempster, Newport, Sunapee, and Unity were provided 12 large vacation deliveries each. Recently higher numbers of needy recipients and less free food from the New Hampshire Food Bank have strained the budget. Charen Urban, volunteer coordinator of the program, reports the goal for this summer is to serve approximately 200 children per delivery, the maximum their facilities can handle. With summer upon us, the need is now.
